Several Florence Deanery parishes have come together with Pass the Legacy Consulting Ministry to offer a conference on “Courageous Grandparenting in A Turbulent World.” presented by Cavin Harper of Christian Grandparenting Network – Colorado Springs, Colorado with special guests Catherine Jacobs, founder and consultant for Pass the Legacy Ministries, Summerville, SC and Peter Rothermel, Chairman of the Department of Faith Formation, the Diocese of SC.

Cavin Harper grew up in Wyoming and is a husband, father, grandfather, speaker, teacher and author. As the founder and Executive Director of the Christian Grandparenting Network he is dedicated to supporting and mobilizing Christian grandparents to intentionally and authentically represent Christ to their grandchildren and families. He and his wife, Diane, live in Colorado Springs near their six grandchildren. They conduct several GrandCamps each summer for grandparents and grade school age grandchildren.

Five sessions of encouragement and inspired teaching
Cavin encourages and challenges “gparents” not to be apathetic in their God-given roll of being a grandparent but to stand strong and to be intentional in their relationships with grand children and grown children. The following sessions explore roles, tools and strategies for taking up the call of courageous grand parenting.
Session 1 : the Courageous grandparent
Session 2 : the Legacy-builder
Session 3 : the Blessing-giver
Session 4 : the Story-teller
Session 5 : the Gate-keeper.
The conference offers ample time for Q/A and time for conversation in small group break-out sessions.
The Pre-Conference :
In preparation for the conference, join Catherine Jacobs, Peter Rothermel, and Cavin Harper for Video Chat Luncheons . There will be a 20 – 30 minute teaching by Cavin live from Colorado or Peter Rothermel followed by a time of Q/A.
